Stealing Cooldown

I really don't see a purpose for the stealing cooldown. Can anyone tell me how to remove it via config files for example?

To what ends? So that the player has to spend more time playing the game? I really don't get it. It's not that you can gain an advantage over another player like in an MMO. The only thing the stealing cooldown accomplishes is that it takes you ages to rob an area blind :>Gauda wrote:As far as I can see, there are no repercussions for a failed pickpocket. Thus the cooldown is a balancing measure to prevent pickpocket spamming.
Failure is not an option. So I'm going to max out stealing, cooldown or no.Gauda wrote:Nah, I more think that bioware wants you to give up/spend more points in stealing, so you don't rob every area blind with a novice in stealing![]()
Indeed, that does sound stupidnocturn wrote:Ok this may sound stupid, but have you considered Quicksaving before a pickpocket attempt and Quickloading in case of failure? On some PCs this might actually be faster than 10 seconds...
Thx!Tenser wrote:Surprisingly, there is a mod for it out there ...

Ah, ok. I played a rogue in my last run and I knew about the quest thing, haven't noticed the other one thoug. Maybe because I never failed? Anyway, thxCrenshinibon wrote:SPOILER:Spoiler
There are a few instances where you will get cornered by guards for stealing. This usually occurs in the form of a random encounter while traveling.
Also, if your main character is a rogue, there is an NPC in Denerim that sets you up with a number of "profitable encounters".
