Which direction am I going to go in if I do/don't kill Flemeth? I will probably have to try both. But it's 5:10 AM and I have to get an hour of sleep before I go to work. I hope when I get home I will have a direction. Thanks!!

You gain approval with Morrigan for killing Flemeth and additional approval for giving her Grimoire. She is telling the truth about Flemeth but she is probably planning to replace her (Zevran suggests this in random dialogue). I didn't give her Grimoire but it didn't matter.

Getting the Grimoire can be quite crucial to how the game ends, I suspect.
You can also
make a deal with Flemeth and not kill her, and bluff Morrigan.

I tried both ways. After you complete the quest you have no trouble convincing Morrigan about Flemeth's death if you spared her, so there is no difference to the plot. I didn't keep playing very much after sparing Flemeth , so there may be consequences further on, but I don't think so.
Thus, my opinion is that it's best to kill her. She doesn't drop anything and I don't know about the exprerience gain, but it's just cooler...
I wonder if there will be any reprecussions about your choice in the sequel...

According to my dialogue with Morrigan near the end of the game, getting the grimoire *should* have repercusions, i.e.:
She needs to for the ritual to spare your life.

Nada, because I didn't give her the book and the endgame events turned out peachy all the same. As to the specific thing you're talking about, I assume Flemeth would have taught her all that before she left the Wilds.
As for me, I left Flemeth alive. I liked the old bat, and not so much Morrigan.

Both ways == Sparing Flemeth OR Killing Flemeth
If you spare Flemeth she gives you the key to her hut. So you can get the Grimoire and give it to Morrigan.
What I didn't like about Flemeth is all the secrecy. I mean she's omnipotent and all, but you've got to answer something when the guy's got a sword at your neck...
