Stacking: Effects from items?

I've looked around Google but haven't found anything really conclusive..
Does anyone know if the effects from items stack, or does the game take the higher number?
For example, right now my duel wielding rogue has one dagger that provides a 30% increase to critical hits/backstabs, while her offhand is equipped with a dagger that gives 15% to critical hits/ backstabs...
Does this stack to 45, or does the game calculate criticals based on the higher number of 30?

Similarly, if you have two pieces of jewelry that provide willpower enhancements, do the effects stack, or does only the higher number count?

All effects (with the exception of "Improves Blood Magic") stack without diminishing returns, so yes, you would have 45% to critical hit and backstab damage in your example.

Nice!
I *knew* there was a good reason to buy that pricey dagger... :D

Thanks for the quick reply ;)

Oh that is a great dagger. My rogue did over a hundred damage per backstab with that dagger in the main hand. So damage aside (and the fact that it improves your backstabs by an amazing thirty percent), it has a very fast attack speed.
