I uh... had no choice but to uh... well... kill everyone in the place...
So...
Were there any good quests in there?

Yes, there were, and items aside, you also missed out on a lot of experience.
For me, personally, the Drow City is one of my favorite parts of the game.

The key to succes in Drow City is timing. You really need to time everything right or you will not succeed but it is truth, you missed a lot of good items and a lot of experience you will need later on.

Yeps. I would add that if you DL the SCSII Mod the Drow are a bit more difficult to just wipe out, as they should be. A Drow city is somewhere even >CHARNAME< should feel cautious and step lightly.
There are quests everywhere (I think, long time since I played a Vanilla game). Never assume there is not.
If I were you I would reload from before I entered UD and do the quests.

Eh. I'll level up to 50 soon, as I'm in Watcher's Keep at the moment.
Experience-wise, its all good.
Item-wise, I'm not too sure.
Anything that a Kensai/Thief (can wear armor) and Beserker/Mage could use in there?

You totally missed out on some sweet items (Fire Tooth returning throwing dagger, Gorgon Plate +4, Rod of Smiting, loads of loot), if you're not too far along it'd almost be worth redoing it.

The most useful items there (Firetooth, ...) are sold by merchants, so if you bought from them you haven't missed much useful.
If you don't miss anything now, there's no need to go back.

Don't forget the Equalizer parts as well as Dragon's Breath +4.

You did not miss any must-have items.
And because You're playing solo, you did not lose much experience points.
What you lost is fun. Baldurs Gate 2 underdark is by far the most entertaining part of the game.

Yes, there are plenty of nice quests for the Drow. Most of it will be for one person.

If he is soloing, the Underdark is one of the most dangerous places in all BG2. It is definitly worth playing, I remember the first time I went in with a full party... All my muscles were ready for a big battle and I screwed up. But it is defenitly worth redoing, especially with a full party. Some Items you find there are worth taking a long time.
