I'm at Dragons Eye Level 2 I think. Theres a small crossing which leads to a chamber with lots of trolls, lots of Talonites and god knows what else. My party is balanced (fighter, pala, ranger, cleric, thief, mage), about LVL 6.
I've restarted this fight about million times, and they always ck up my whole party. Any advice?

It's quite a long time since I've played the game, but I recall with Dragon's Eye that the easiest way to handle most of those battles is to use the tunnels and caves to your advantage.

Have your casters lay various traps (i.e Grease, Web) on top one another at a choke point. Then, keep your party in place, behind the traps, and have one member run to the enemies and run back. Or, ideally, see if you can use ranged weapons and/or magic to pull them to you.

This will help keep things under your control.

I've managed to pull it off w one of my party members died in the process :)
And just because she's an elf, the priests in Kuldahar charge me 4400GPs to resurrect her :) Now thats some mean business if you ask me...
Anyway, I've used some web spells and fireballs to hold them back.

I know its a bit too late, but Skull Trap (wizard, lvl 3) and Glyph of Warding (priest, lvl 2 or 3) are two great spells for ambushes. They leave traps which activate when someone comes close (including party, so watch out!). I remember beating Icewind Dale without pause thanks to those spells

(i did not know that there is a pause button back then! :) )
