Fighter-Thief Duo Class combo

I am kind of torn of which path to go with from SoA to ToB...I love the fighter who dual classes into thief.

I am not sure if I want to be a Wizard-Slayer / Thief or Kensai / Thief. I am not planning on using any cheats to finish the game, just play from start to finish. I use just the core game, along with the expansion for Deidre's gear

They both seem to have advantages. At 15th level when I swap over to get max attacks per round, and an extra Weapon Prof.

As a Wizard Slayer 15% MR, plus a 10% chance PER HIT of casting failure on enemy casters. :mischief:

Kensai gets the +5 to HIT & Damage, along with the AC reduction. KAI power is also quite nice as well. :mischief:

I just have to survive to get to level 20 to get the USE ANY ITEM ability, then I can ignore the restrictions of both fighter classes. :p

Playing the Wizard Slayer I can use any armor or weapon I want, just no MISC items

As a Kensai, I cannot seem to really get my AC very low so I can survive combat once I make the switch.

Any thoughts or ideas on this... I know this has been talked about before, but some fresh perspective, would be nice. Remember NO CHEATS will be used.

Personally, I'd suggest that you go for a Kensai and then dual to a thief. I'm not a big fan of the Wizard Slayer class, especially since you can reach the state of complete magic resistance through items very easily.

In order to help out with armor, I suggest that you grab the Amulet of Shielding, which will be enough to have a decent AC.

You won't get the use any item HLA before you reach thief level 24.

I consider the bonuses you get for 15 kensai levels more than 3 times as useful as the bonuses for 15 wizard slayer bonuses.

The kensai will actually be less vulnerable during the dualing period than the wizard slayer. Potions or the shield amulet grant good base AC and misc items can grant big bonuses to defense.

Organize your run-thru so that you are adding NPCs and doing their quests during your dual class down time (excluding those associated with Valygar and Keldorn)

:2 cents

shield amulet

how many charges are there on the amulet, and if it runs out any way to get it recharged?

More than you'll need. I think there are 50.

You can recharge any item by selling it to a merchant and then buying it back.
