Halfling Clerics?

Allright I decided to have some fun and make an interesting char. I went ahead and made a halfling cleric. He's awesome! Much better than any human cleric. I took out both of those druids in the woods next to The Friendly Arm Inn alone. But when I was making him I noticed I couldn't get more than 17 wisdom. I thought only gnomes suffered a wisdom penalty! Whats up with this!

I haven't tried a halflin cleric but i do enjoy making odd characters. This was some of my bg2 party members:
halfling barbarian
dwarven theif
About the wisdom mess. Bioware probably screwed wisdom for the halfing and never bothered to fix it believing nobody would play with one.

Really annoying, isn't it, especially since WIS really helps your clerics in this game. I'd just CLUA in a Tome of Wisdom and fix that little problem.
