Autosave glitch

Hi there,
i recently bought the dvd version of Icewind dale 1 and I'm having a big problem with my autosaves. The problem is every time I restart the game it only loads my autosave. I have a normal savegame and a quicksavegame but when i chose one of the two it also only loads my autosave. I tried to re-install the game but the same problem occured again. I also deleted my autosave from the mpsave folder but it still loads my autosave.
my specs are:
Windows Vista Home Premium 32
AMD Phenom II X4 940 Processor
4,0 G Ram
Nvidia GTS 250
Some help would be really appreciated.
