"Display info" key for IWD?

Hi,
after playing BG2, (Triology), and being able to press Tab to see any viable objects, it's so hard going back to the 'mousesearch'.
BG2 and HoW+IWD2 both uses the infinity engine, so why don't they have this feature?
I tired looking around, but seemingly there is no mod for this.
Does anyone know how to obtain this feature?

Edit: I guess what I mean is 'Item highlight'.
I read on the forum that the 'alt' key may work. I will try it first, sorry for posting before searching.
