Saemon Havarian help

after collecting the pirate horn, Saemon stays in the tavern. after speaking to him, he and the entire party reappear next to the wall in the Vulgar Monkey, and Saemon "has nothing to say to you." he's *not* duplicated by the docks.

i've tried editing baldur.ini to use some codes to fix this, but the CLUAconsole won't work, either (and i've looked through all the help topics for that problem in windows 7, too).

what should i do?

Ok, here goes.

First of all, the usual questions:

-Have you installed ToB?
-Have you patched ToB? (only apply patch 26498, not 26499, and no need to patch SoA first)
-Have you installed any sort of third party fixes? (e.g. fixpack, baldurdash, etc.)
-Have you installed any other mods?

Now, even assuming it's a properly patched and fixpack-applied game, Saemon can still cause problems even to this date.

There's many threads and posts about this on various forums. Here's a couple:
Post-Spellhold Brynnlaw Bug - The Gibberlings Three Forums.
Saemon problem - The Gibberlings Three Forums

Firstly, try CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("ppsaem3") and see if that works. Unless you meant you can't open the CLUA console when you said 'the CLUA console won't work'? That would be a problem... (I assumed you just meant you couldn't figure out the right command to get Saemon to spawn)

Hopefully that will work, and, if you don't read those threads, the important things for next time for yourself, and anyone else, are:

-Wait for Saemon to leave the tavern after you agree to get the horn, before you rush out first.
-Don't try to save/quicksave the game during any such scene where other important actors are moving, and you think you ought to wait. This is a general piece of advice, not specfic to Saemon.

?

thanks for your reply!

CLUAConsole does not function at all; no dialog box opens. that's perfectly fine with me, though. i was just trying it to use it to address this specific problem.

i haven't yet installed ToB, but will do so if you think i should. i haven't installed any mods, Baldurdash or other fixes yet because this specific problem wasn't listed as fixed under them, and i'm a little wary of installing anything from a non-commercial source with which i'm unfamiliar.

i have, however, installed the SoA patch.

I have had problems with saemon here as well. What I did was add debug mode=1 to the baldur.ini and then clua in saemon. I just went through all of the different versions of him until I found the right one, the one prune suggested is probably correct though.

well,

as i said before, CLUAconsole doesn't work on my computer.

but i installed ToB, patched it, went back to an earlier saved game (again), and this time it worked, so thanks for your suggestions!
