BG1 is tuffer than BG2

I completed BG2 and enjoyed it so much that
I bought BG1 and I have to say it has started
out as a much tuffer game than 2 was. Hmmm.
Strange.

I would say that it is because you are low-level - have "poor" weapons and not many spells available. That is wath makes BG1 harder than BG2 (IMHO).
It is a different kind of challenge

Yep, I liked playing the low levels. It really made you play more cautiously and think before you act. Those first levels could be very challenging, and I thought BG1 as a whol was far tougher than it's sequel. BG2 has some challenging fights, but at high levels, you can practically put your party on cruise control. BG1 was definitely a work of art. Awesome! I still play the game to this day.

Yes. It was probably due to the low levels....i remember my first mage (a specialist necromancer): 2 first lvl spells.....
When you gained 1 third lvl spell, you thought you could rule the world!!!!!
