Questions about DLC's

Just Starting to play FO3 for the first time. I'm playing the GOTY edition on PC.
I loaded both disc and it went well no Problem. I just left Vault 101. I clicked on the Data Files and it showed a list of everything I loaded. However only Fallout.ems had a check. I put a check in all the DLC boxes and returned to the game. Got a lot of messages and new quests, I assume associated with the DLC's.

Should I have waited until later in the game to do this?

Is there a certain time to load these, or does it even matter?

Also how do you check to see which ver. of the game you have?

Thanks :) :)

You can add DLCs any time you want.

Point Lookout, Zeta and Pitt add new areas, which will not affect your gameplay at all untill you visit these new zones.

The last one however adds new enemies to the base world aswell. New, powerfull enemies, which will take nukes to the head while still frying your butt. :D Luckily those only spawn after you reach a certain level, and sometimes in certain places regardless of level.

Just a note.. This mod increases the damage of headshots, both on enemies and you. It speeds up the combat, and reduces the retarded overpoweredness of the enemies mentioned above. I strongly recommend getting it, but its up to you
