Permanant increase to skill?

Is there any way to enchant a permanant constant increase to a stat? Like +10 to strength or something?
The only thing I can really find is the fortify attribute which you have to cast and lasts only a short duration.

When you are able to acquire Grand Soul gems and trap either Golden Saints or Ascended Sleepers in them, you can permanently enchant rings, clothing etc. with increases to strength, intelligence and so on.
Since this is easily game breaking, the catch is that unless you use cheese and exploits, you can't enchant items with constant effect yourself, and getting an enchanter to do it can be very costly for a low level player.

Well, happily money isn't an issue although I hadn't planned for it. When I went through the tutorial for the patch mod mentioned recently, I found that
I had about 900k in gold plus the three enchanted ebony blades with drain health
from the walkthrough tutorial.

I take it you're referring to the 'Hall of bugs and fixes', you really shouldn't be using that other than to see what difference the changes make. That is serious uber cheating.
I've managed to control myself and haven't kept any of the money or items, but I had serious problems resisting using her as a merchant. In the end I had to de-select the tutorial mod to stop myself!:laugh:

Heh! I suddenly feel so virtuous, thus far I've managed to avoid going anywhere near it, except to check it out the first time
@Cajun,
Anyway,
I really suggest you avoid using any of the funds, weapons etc. you get from there. The game becomes too easy too quickly as it is, you'll just spoil it for yourself if you make it even easier. Though, obviously, your call

I guess that you know this already, but for anyone who does not :
The better the armor quality, the stronger enchant it can have. Also : Heavier armor is "better" in this aspect. Glass cannot have as powerfull enchants as deadric.
