I bought the dvd with both FALLOUT AND FALLOUT 2 as well as FALLOUT TACTICS, and I have a question regarding FALLOUT-there is a time limit that
you have to meet or else you loose the game, is that still in place on v. 1.2 ?
the reason I ask is that I heard that at one point it had been removed-but I
dont know if that was for all following versions.

As far as I know it's still in place. It's only a mild thread in Fallout 1 though, unless you do a serious amount of backtracking. Just keep making steady progress and don't heal up by resting all the time, buy healing stuff. That shaves off months in the end. In Fallout 2 you get so much time it's very unlikely you'll ever run out of it before the end. Also, at a certain point in Fallout 2 the timer just stops.

I'm also playing through fallout at this time. It's one of my favorites so I have finished it a bunch of times. Don't worry about the time limit. Once you find the waterchip and get it back to vault 13 the time limit will disappear and you will have more than enough time to finish the game.

There's also a way to expand the time limit should you need it. Just talk to the watermerchants in the Hub. Just be ready to pay a lot of caps for their water.
