Looking for a character

Alright, so where do I begin here.
Oh well, I've started playing the game again after some time collecting dust. And I'm once again all sucked into it (bit of a pun there).

Anyhow, what always bothers me is the looks the default skins of the playable characters. SO... After some scouting for desireable skins and downloading the VPK extractor. I bumped into the Nines Unpimped mod. Which I thought was kinda cool. Although it doesn't seem to be possible to change the player skin to this, and at the same time keep Nines the way he looks with his golden chains and what not. I also realised that I wouldn't after all like "being" Nines as I'd then see my identical twin in cutscenes and being part of the plot.

So after starting out with the regular skins. I got a dejavu of running into Trip's Pawnshop, and recalled how I like Trip's kinda laid-back appearance, and decided to switch my new Brujah's skin to Trip's skin.
And I must say, it does look rather funny seeing this surfer dude running around biting things to death, as he's originally human and doesn't have this grey'ish hue in his skin  Plus of course the baggy jeans and surfer t-shirt.

Furthermore I found the modelviewer mod that lets you switch between all the male and female models in the game. And found this badass looking guy in a brown coat, with a sword on his back, but unfortunately with a ponytail

So my question is, what is this browncoated, swordbearing guy with an ugly ponytail called? Is he a "common" npc or is he a unique one? It's not Grünfeld Bach, but does look alot like him.

And also... Would it be possible to, let's say "take" Trip's head, and put it on to the coat-and-sword guy's body? Which files should I look for?

I think I've found the guy with a sword etc. It's the "Elite Hunter" from the extracted Society of Leopold folder (thanks to the Packfile Explorer that I found).

So just one question remains then, how do I change the head of this character? I assume that this requires some skinning skills, using Photoshop perhaps... Although, I'd like to get around that, hopefully just being able to switch the head with files somehow...

Okay, I've gotten as far as placing all the relevant files in the same folder (My working folder). Using VPK Tool to edit "my" brujah's .mdl one, and then in turn switch around the texture settings in it. Alas, I'm doing something wrong, as when I use my custom .mdl, which has Trip's .mdl as a base. And then change his body to get the texture from the elite hunter (in the same folder). I do get Trip's head on the hunters body, BUT still with Trip's mesh

Trying the other way around, using the hunters .mdl as a base, I don't even get the option to change his head...

I feel like I'm getting closer. Yet I'd need someone's assistance in telling me what I'm doing wrong.

You may want to try here: Planet Vampire - Index

There's a dedicated and active modding board where you're more likely to find someone who knows.

Now that you may have an answer to your question, may I ask you about something else ? Since everyone here is interested in Vampires and you are from Sweden.... have you seen the movie.....
Let the Right one In ? Låt den rätte komma in ? Could you tell us about it ?

Guess not.

I'm not one to reply to my own replies if there is no interest but:
The American remake of this movie will hit theaters in about a week. I did find a copy of Let the Right One In with English overdubs. I really liked it. It didn't follow the White Wolf rules but the vampire had potence and may have been a Gangrel because of the climbing ability. Thankfully, no shimmering daylight scenes.
The remake is called Let Me In and a trailer can be found here. For those who's Vampire interests go beyond playing VtM-Bloodlines, check it out.

Yes, we've shown it, the original. It's a good movie but it's not really about vampires, I think - well, maybe, it touches on the Masquarade thing.
