The "most useless" thread made me think of a change of pace...

Anyway, I'm doing another run through the game, and I decided to go for maximum entertainment value in terms of banter and party dynamics. So far, especially with the mods I'm using, this is easily the most enjoyable romp through Amn that I've experienced. For NPC-related mods I'm using the Pocket Plane Banter Pack, IEP Banters, Mazzy Friendship, Viconia Friendship and the Edwin Romance. My party is:

Viconia
Mazzy
Jan
Korgan

Honestly.. it's a blast

So, what is everyone else's most enjoyable group? Of course, people have differing definitions of fun, so that can include tactical challenges and such as well as party-derived amusement.

My best party was the last one when I played the game and it was mostly evil-oriented.

Zandra (NE, half-orc, declined godship at the end)
Viconia (romance)
Sarevok
Jon Irenicus (Longer road mod)
Korgan
Imoen

Party included Valygar but at one point, I can't remember where, he didn't agree with my actions which were evil and he thus became my enemy, so I was "forced" to slay him.The same happened with Minsc because he sided with Svirfneblins, when I wanted the gem for reaching Adalon.I think Nalia was included, but I killed her and entire De'Arnise keep after I got the reward.Edwin was also in the party but at one point I grew tired of his rambling, so...Yeah, it was quite a killing spree.

But don't think I had fun only with evil party, my 2nd best party creation was:

Jan
Imoen
Keldorn

Ooo, Red Dragon Wench!!! How long will Mazzy last in that party? I can't remember if there comes a point when she can rebel, but there certainly should be.

My favourite run through was so long ago I cant remember the details other than it was multi-player with my best friend. IIRC I had a Ranger/Cleric and an Elf FMT, he had a Bard and a Monk, I think most good NPC were in the group at one time or another but no romance.

Solo I've never completed the game as an evil character, I really cant get my head around the idea that evil equals stupid. and really to play evil through and through in this game requires stupidity IMHO. Far too many occasions where to stay 'in role' you have to take the obviously zero reward option.

So good parties I've enjoyed most:

Saerileth (romance)
Nalia/Imoen (the only thing missing from the typical Mother/Sister behaviour after the asylum was Imoen showing Saerileth my nude baby photo's )

Mazzy's Squire (AKA Valygar)

Number one though

Half-Elf F/M/T (neutral good)
Viconia (romance - I don't get all the stuff about her not romancing elves and half elves, I never had any problems)

Korgan (he sulked from time to time, but never left the party)
Mazzy

The banter between Mazzy and Valygar is fun, but the banter between her and Korgan is even better.

For me it hasn't been so much the whole party as tha various pairings that have been the most fun. It isn't the combat or the tactics but the interactions that have had me in stitches. Here's my most fave pairings yet

Jan and Viconia; plus Jan and Edwin - lots of gloriously sarcastic comments from the shorty about about the evil characters taking over the world!

Anomen and [url="http://www.pocketplane.net/mambo/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=81&Itemid=66"]Kelsey[/url] (non bioware sorcerer) - the romance conflicts can be really, really funny and it's great to see the pompous one taken down a few pegs. There's even a bonus dream sequence!

Edwin and Irenicus ([url="http://www.spellholdstudios.net/ie/lr"]Longer Road[/url] is a ToB mod that allows you to import your old nemesis, and even lead him to redemption). I'm only about a quarter of the way through this, and I can already tell that this rivalry is going to be one of the all time greats, especially when added to the [url="http://www.spellholdstudios.net/ie/edwin"]Edwin Romance[/url] Talk about battle of the egos :laugh:

And last but definitely not least ... Minsc & Boo with anybody else at all is always a wonderful giggle!

The most fun I've had beating the game was the last time I played the game. I somehow pulled the strings just right to make the relationships with and between party members more rewarding than I had ever done before.

In my opinion the Jaheira romance is the most interesting. It takes longer to dig away the layers of her hard personality to find her softer side, and the way it is executed gives me a greater sense of immersion than any of the others.

Other than that I'm not going to get to deep into why I chose this party, just wanted to share what gave me the best experience.
