Thaumaturgy question

Replaying on a Tremere with the self-imposed goal of using only Thaumaturgy to take out enemies (not sure how doable this will be as I already needed to buy blood packs to be able to do enough damage to take out the blood guy in the art gallery). What I'm wondering is what stats (if any) can I increase to increase my Thaum damage? And/or does having a higher overall Thaumaturgy level increase the damage of lower disciplines?

I seem to vaguely remember from the PnP game that it might be based on a stat or something but I could be completely wrong, it's been awhile.

I don't think any stat increases the damage of Thaumaturgy, aside from a few histories, an item you can get(if you get the Tremere Haven).

Hmm okay, well right now my Thaumaturgy is at 2, I'm mostly using purge and don't really need the level 3 ability just yet. But if I were to increase it to level 3 will that increase the damage of the level 1 and 2 abilities at all? Or does literally nothing except for the item and the history bonus make a difference?

Investing points in the Thaumaturgy discipline tree generally doesn't improve the other disciplines. The history however can improve it. I recall one letting you do more damage and another giving you an extra point in it.

That being said, you can more or less go the entire game without using blood packs. You should have your third discipline on almost all the time, except in public areas. Your first and fourth disciplines will be your main attack skills. The first one you can spam, but should count the amount of hits it takes to kill an enemy, to avoid wasting blood. The fourth discipline should only be used with three or more enemies in front of you. I found the fifth discipline to be of not much use.
