Ever used a Ghostwise Halfling?

My most recent party is my first go round using some of the power gaming builds I have read about in some of the sticky threads. Didn't use them exclusively and decided upon a Barbarian/Druid build instead of a Bard/Druid. The races that stand out in my mind as having Barbarian as a favored class are of course Half Orc but also Ghostwise Halflings. There may another I am forgetting but after reading about the Ghostwise Halflings, I thought this might be just the ticket for a Barbarian 3 (or 4? maybe) Druid X character. I can level in druid without having to have Barbarian keep pace. The starting stats are much better than a Half Orc and there is no EL racial offset so he levels very fast.

Now, I grant that the Ghostwise gives up some strength, but as my main goal is a druid with some Barbarian levels tossed in for speed and rage ability, not a big deal for me. Picture a Raging Shambling Mound! :speech:

The Ghostwise Halfing has one racial special ability that also attracted my attention. They can set special snare traps, sounds like no big deal but it is cast exactly like a skull trap spell. I have used it like a grenade in a fight to great effect. Easy pickings with goblins or orcs but he pitched one into the middle of a pack of snow trolls and snagged a couple. Did the same to some Dire Wolves in the Fell Wood. It works great and unlike the druid spell "Entangle" the snare trap does "not" effect party members. Handy little trick to have. He gets it 3 times per rest. First time to use a Ghostwise and I am definitely having fun.

Would there be much benefit from more than 3 barbarian levels? I know extra rage is gained and evasion improves in the next few levels, since damage reduction doesn't even start until level 11 I really had no plans to take that many in Barbarian. My plan includes going on to HOF so I was thinking of a Barbarian 3 (or 4), Druid X build.

1 barbarian already yields almost all benefits, so do 20 druid levels. It doesn't really matter which levels you take afterwards, so don't bother.
