Looking for H&S

I am sure half this forum (if not all) would like to strangle me for my looking for game posts , but does anyone know of a good hack and slash game?

Long Version:
Rakion has the concept of what i am looking for but its kinda weak or low quality (low resolution and not too good connection :( ). Gunz was great but too many ppl using glitches (and legal too! ) while wielding a sword, making it next to impossible for people without mutated hands to play it. And UT3 is amazing but doesn't have item shop or melee weapons.

Short Version:
Rakion - classes/fighting methods/attacks, Gunz - movement, UT3 - also movement/graphics/performance speed.

Anything that merges all of these things together without fake hack and slashing (WoW, DDO, etc...)?

I suppose it depends on the style you want... If you're looking for Isometric then Sacred is a really good Hack and Slash fest and rises above the average Diablo clone. Dungeon Siege, Jade Empire, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic and Mount & Blade are really good. I've not played Torchlight, but I've read that it's insanely good fun for a hack and slash fest. You could also try some NWN modules, there are a lot of hack and slash heavy ones esp. Good vs Evil, which has pitched battles...

If you are looking for something with a more tactical edge then Spellforce/Spellforce 2 can be fun for a while.

There are also plenty of crappy Hack and Slashy games - like Blade and Sword, Restricted Area, Dungeon Siege 2, Sacred 2 - and some I'm not so sure about like Dawn of Magic and Silverfall.

A lot of RPG's can be played as pure Hack and Slash; Icewind Dale, BG - the first couple of chapters of the original NWN campaign are fun for Fighters, Barbarians and Monks, Hordes of the Underdark is awesome with the Epic level Fighter feats and Dragon Age can be an interesting experience playing without a mage in the party.

A bit of a late reply from my end, but I figure I'm one of a handful that has both Silverfall and the Earth Awakening expansion. The size of the Silverfall + EA expansion is by far the largest I've seen for any commercial game I've installed. The studio that made the game is no longer around, but I felt the game was OK. Diablo as well as the sequel are considered a template for all other hack and slash games.
