Book Purchases

Is there a list anywhere stating exactly which books can only be obtained by purchase? I'm in chapter 2 and it looks like buying just those books not read but providing necessary information of monsters could become costly, the one with alghouls(and others) is 500 orens alone.

I personally found it best to just check every single item container and shop I find, in that order. And buy all the books I see that I haven't read. You'll probably have to play a fair bit of dice poker to afford this. Thaler is an excellent guy to do that with. Anyway, doing this will at least assure you can always get the skinnable items, which results in more cash along the way.
