Wild Mage

Post by Tricky »

Two questions. Kinda.

1. If a Wild Surge changes the gender of my character, how can I undo the effect? Is it even permanent?

2. I'm a bit concerned over the chance to lose all your money due to a Wild Surge gone bad. It could really break SoA if it happens at the wrong time. Are there mods that undo that particular side effect?

Bonus question: The Wild Surge that changes the player's gender got me thinking. There are other ways to change the gender of the player character without cheating. How does that generally effect the romances in SoA? Before you start one, does the game remember your initial gender? And if you change it during a romance, are they generally happy to persue a same-sex relationship? Can you still get Aerie pregnant? :speech:

1. I'm pretty sure that the effect is not permanent. If it is, then I think you can undo it either by casting a "Remove Curse" on your character or by getting the same wild surge again.

2. I never really had a problem with this, especially as a solo character. You should be able to collect well over 300k if you do every single quest before leaving Chapter 2. As such, you should be able to collect at least 10k before you leave the Promenade. I do not know any such mods, but if you really need to, then you can either duplicate a gem and sell it or simply use the console.

Bonus: I'm pretty sure that it doesn't affect your romance, though I never tried this myself. I would be pretty amazed if it did.

As I remember it is permanent and you cant remove it with remove curse/dispell magic/cure poison and just another wildsurge gender change proc can revert it.Save often(happened with me just once with a wild mage in entire SoA and ToB so its rare).Maybe if you can import the ogres belt from BG1 that can revert it too(I dont know that its possible with mods or not).

Save often(but money is not a problem usually I have around 5-600000g-s later in the game without cheating).

It has no effect on romances they dont notice that you are no longer male.

Cool. I'm not sure if saving all the time will be an option, since we'll be playing a LAN game. That could becoming a bit annoying.

We'll see I guess. Thanks for answering Crenshinibon and childofbhaal.
