MW first playthrough: disable expansions?

Using the instructions I found at morrowind2009.wordpress.com I managed to install MW GOTY and around ten mods too make it look better.

This is the first time I'm going to play MW so I haven't seen the island or anything yet. Should I disable the Bloodmoon and Tribunal expansions for a better player experience or can I just leave them enabled? And is it even possible with the GOTY edtion to disable these and still play the game from begin to end? Thanks for your suggestions.

There's no issue with keeping them both enabled, save one minor (and easily amendable one). Keep in mind that [incredibly minor] spoilers follow:

Tribunal's story begins with assassins coming after the main character. They scale to your level, so you needn't worry about getting mauled early on. However, they *will* keep coming 'till you visit the person the game tells you to, which gets a little annoying.

Other than that, there's no reason in the world not to keep them activated. They're nice diversions.

When playing a game for the very first time ever, wouldn't it make more sense to play it without mods?

You know, for a game like Morrowind, I can completely understand installing a few graphics mods. The art direction for the game is phenomenal, but the graphics themselves look very dated, and a few mods can go a long way to make the game's appearance jump ahead several years.

Yeah, I just installed some graphical mods, don't like game changing mods. But thanks for the suggestions, I will keep both expansions enabled when I start.
