Yo guys,
It's my first walkthrought on IwD and i'm still newbie on the D&D world!
I'm on the discovery mission requested by kuldahar druid and i've got an issue, my 3rd lvl thief stacked with 70% trap detect but she couldn't detect anything, I believe normally traps will appear as red lighted mechanism on floor ain't it?
Besides when I activate "detec trap" mode it got disabled after some time or battle mode? is that normal? ^^
Thanks for your help guys, I am so enjoying that game :3
Ah another question, what is "turn undead" thing I have on my paladin and cleric. what it is used for ?

When you use the "turn undead" special ability enemy undead (like skeletons) which are close can be forced to flee or even destroyed, just read the manual, it's very useful both for newbies and experienced players.
Check if your thief has a script enabled which might override the search command you give him, you cannot both attack monsters and search for traps at the same time. Traps detected by your thief just look as traps detected with the cleric's "find traps" spell.
When searching for a trap you should have the rest of your party wait while slowly progressing with your thief, it takes some time to detect traps, 70 skill is definitely enough.

that's helpful, thank you I figured out how to find traps still I couldn't disarm traps, just have the explore (see items ) in crypts/box and traps triggers when I approach. I should have a disarm icon ain't it?
Sorry for such noobish questions ^^'

When a thief is looking for traps, she needs to focus her full attention, so to speak. So anything you do turns the search mode off: drinking a potion, talking to npcs, switching between weapons. It's the same for cleric's turn undead and bard's songs.
When detecting traps a thief might need a moment to find something: after all, she's looking at a dungeon and analising what she sees, searching for hidden mechanisms, posoned spikes in the wall and all that. Give 'em a moment
Once she finds a trap, you disable it by selecting the "general" thieving icon. I believe it's supposed to look like a face mask with a pointer, it's down next to "detect" button. Your mouse pointer will change into that mask and allow you to point at a trap. You use the same icon for pickpocketing (pointing at an npc, don't try this without saving first) and opening locks (pointing at a door or chest, check for traps first).

I'm really on your doubt that helped me ALOT,
Another question please, what's with the rings/ necklaces without stats, are they just some loot to sell like gems? or can I enchant them?
I don't have the game manuel, maybe there's a digital version to download or acquire? ^^

As far as I know jewelery is just loot to be sold, although I'm not on icewind dale (I only finished Icewind dale 1 & how once and am currently playing through icewind Dale 2 for the first time)

You cannot permanently enchant stuff in this game, so anything that has no stats, is worthless.
Ahoy
