Hi again.
I am now in the vale of shadows, started a new game.
There are monsters that I simpy cannot kill, for example: Merykul's Sending, Mummy, Imbuedwights. All I get is weapon ineffective...
Why is this so?
I do have a single weapon which is +1 but it also cannot do the job.
What gives??

I was playing icewind dale not so long ago, and if I remember right... a lot of battles can be swung by the choice of weapons. I played as a Duel Classed Fighter/Cleric and had little problem. Blunt weapons (Mace +1, Warhammer +1, Flail +1, Club +1) are usually best against all undead and having Fire by means of arrows, spells, wands, enchantments and Oil of Firey Burning help a lot as well. If members of your party can cast Holy Weapon or Shilaleigh etc. then these can be instrumental in turning the tide.

Some monsters can only be damaged by +1 weapons or better, some by +2 weapons or better and +3 weapons can hurt everything (with only a few weapon type restrictions in the expansions).

How does this makes sense?
I am only at the very beginning of the game...(vale of...)
Where would I acquire +2 weapons, needless to say that I dont even have enough coins to get one.
I will try with +1, see where I go from there...

In the Vale of Shadows there isn't an enemy you can't kill with +1 weapons. The first monster which requires a better better weapon is at the end of chapter 2, you'll find a lot of stuff until then.
Even at the later parts of the game most monsters can be killed with normal weapons.

Okay I got it now.
Thank-you for the tips. +1 weapons were required indeed.
