hello everybody i have recently just purchased an XFX Radeon 6950 2GB(unmodded so far) and was hoping to obliterate the frame rates in D2, but to all end i cant get past 25fps  . so my question: is there a frame rate cap in this game or are the cards so advanced that the drivers suck for this game? and before you ask its not the rest of my system being the roadblock. i also got these frame rates on my old system so i know something is up.

system: new (some pieces are old though)
cpu: amd phenom x4 9650 @2.47ghz
gpu: XFX radeon 6950 2GB(ddr5) @800core/1250mem
ram: 8GB(ddr2) corsair pc6400 @800mhz
hdd: 60GB OCZ Agility(os) ssd + 1TB western digital caviar black(storage) @7200rpm
os: windows 7 x64 home premium

system: old
cpu: pentium 4 @2.8ghz
gpu: nvidia geforce mx4000 128mb(ddr) @250core/400mem (ran off a pci slot  )
ram: 256mb(ddr) pc2700 @333mhz
hdd: maxor 80gb @5400rpm
os: windows xp 32bit home premium

Diablo 2 was optimized to run better on Glide. I do know that there is a Glide wrapper called Zeckensack, but it will cause issues with cinematics. Just run the game on the limited and unoptimized other video option.

yes there is a cap in this game (25fps) which sometimes kicks in. Dont remember then. I just run the game in software mode( when i played it. :D ) Its not a 3D game, it doesnt matter, as long as its at least 25 and you dont have mouse lag problems. Anything above 25 is pure cosmetics.
