As the tittle says. I bought an Acer Aspire 5742G-373G32MN for 440 euro..
How does media markt make money on promotions like that? I don't know how much did it cost them per piece naturally, but i doubt that it was less than 400.

I bought it, without any second thoughts (except for, naturally, checking all the hidden details before and pestering ALL the tech support in media markt to confirm the informations) mainly because the price is normally 600e+

What's up with that?

oh, and dear dutch people, go get it too :D

Edit : Sure, Acer laptops don't have the best opinion, but the few downsides of it beign an acer, can easily be fixed / worked around.

Nice laptop, unless of course you want to run it on batteries for more than ten minutes! I know two people that have one, and the battery life both of them get is virtually nonexistent.

I'm running some tests, and read about a few tests made by some PC magazines (aka "laptop experts") before getting it :) It seems to be capable of running a two-three hour session of dvd with no problems. Good enough for me.

Although it bothered me that the battery was already charged (~85%) when i assembled the laptop.
Nice laptop
Idd, i3 370m processor with radeon 5470 and 3gb of ram to back it up. And i even got to pick the language of windows 7.. normally with non-ultimate windows 7 you're stuck with some barbaric language (like Dutch).

Edit : The bastard is also realy quiet. Compared to my last one that is. So in general i'm very satisfied, and recommend Dutch GB members to get it aswell, before the 27th. Unless there is something that i don't know yet..

It seems that i'll be trying to return the laptop after all. Or selling, since you cannot return what you've used.

The problem isn't that the hardware has flaws - because except for mono sound, which is quite minor, it has none - but the restrictions applied to the windows copy on it, aswell as wide screen resolution of 1366 x 768 annoy me to no end. Some may like it, but i'm a 4:3 guy that also often messes up with many config files :)
