Might and Magic VIII Windowed Mode

Greetings, I just started playing Might and Magic VIII, and I have been looking around and can't seem to find any information on if you can run the game in windowed mode since when I alt tab I cannot alt tab back in to the game since it just gives me a grey screen then boots me out of the game. So is it possible to run it windowed and if so how would you do it? I have the Gog version if that matters.

Set your color settings to 16 bit, launch the MM8 configuration utility, and it should let you run the game windowed.

Thanks, that worked, but it seems to not be possible to scale the window, so it is unreadabliy small:/

i had the same problem and i found it was my graphic card that the game found
i just turned it off set it to the soft ware setting and it works in windows and full screen modes with alt-tab working

I'm playing it fullscreen, with my monitor set to auto-detect the resolution/widescreen ratio. It allows me to alt-tab without problems. I do think I have the original one, though, not the GoG one. Still, worth a try, I think.
