Lost Shadowmere

My own fault - did it without thinking. I got on the unicorn, just cos I could, then got off and ran away from the Minotaurs until they couldn't see me any more, then fast traveled to Waterfront. Got the usual message 'horse stabled outside city' and never thought any more about it. Until the next time I fast traveled and found I had the unicorn.
Call me silly, but I didn't want the unicorn, I wanted Shadowmere! Went to last place I left him, but he was not there. Went to Fort Farragut, but not there either.
So, I went to all other stables with no luck, and finally walked unicorn from Bravil back to close to where I found him and left him walking there on his own. Then I bought a horse from Bravil, so I could lose the unicorn.
But I miss Shadowmere!

Bring up ye olde console and type in "player.moveto 00032BF5"
That should move you to wherever Shadowmere is currently wandering in your game.

Thank you, Loki - I'll try that.

Well, I did it, and I was moved to the path by the Imperial City stables. But no Shadowmere. My current horse was in the stables, plus a black horse (among several other types) but it was not Shadowmere, and anyway, it was a red hand 'black horse'. No horse on the path either. I tried it twice to be sure, but no dice.

Odd. Allow me to redirect you to the UESPWiki page I got that info from.
If nothing on that page works, you could try the console command "player.placeatme 00032BF4" to spawn a brand new Shadowmere. Hopefully the first wont throw a jealous hissy fit when she finds out

Shadowmere usually returns to Fort Farragut.

According to dear old Flotsie;

But if I remember correctly, when you lose her she doesn't instantly appear at the fort, she's walking the whole way. Not even running, just walking. And I believe the grove in which you find the unicorn is quite a ways from the fort. For the time being, just stick with whatever horse you got and eventually Shadowmere should appear at the fort.

This is correct. Lost shadowmere once and had to wait a while, he eventually showed up.

Thanks, everyone. You have been most helpful.
Guess I'll just have to keep trying at Farragut until Shadowmere turns up. It hasn't been very long yet, just a couple or three game days.

LOL! I'd love to see a horse throw a 'hissy fit'!:laugh::laugh:

Well, she is still walking so if you were to go to the grove, try and walk to the fort by horseback and you might run into her before she shows up at the fort.

been a while since I played Oblivion, but given what others have said I'd suggest leaving the game unpaused and idle while you're away from the computer, maybe at work or shopping or whatever to pass the in game time faster so the horse gets back to it's location

Both those last suggestions are good.
But I think I'll just keep dropping by Farragut every day until Shadowmere shows up. Quests to do, places to go, ya know?
Well - not main or guild quests, cos I've done all those with this char (lv 28 and much too good, now, actually - she can stroll though everywhere without lifting a finger except to open locks). If it weren't for Shadowmere, and Shivering Isles I'd probably be starting with a new char now...

I don't think Shadowmere is ever coming back. Spent over a week in game time checking out Farragut, and still not shown up. Meh.
So anyway, I've started (yet another) new game... ho hum. Roll on November...
