Known problems with TW2?

I would like to know if anyone else encounter the problem i have:
(The game is original)..After a couple of hours of game, sometimes less, it crashes in blue screen with "critical error the system was shut down to avoid damage to the computer the file witcher2.exe bla bla bla etc..", nothing good you see..that started installing witcher2..that's a pity, 'cause i begin to like the game and would like to go on..
But there is a most important thing i care because means spend more money: Are graphic requests really so high or i have some problem, i mean, my graphic card is an Nvidia Gefoce GTX275, well, it was a kickass graphic card when i bought a couple of years ago, is really time to change it? Cause the game set itself to minimum graphic possible, and even so it's not fluid at all..i begin to have this problems with Dragon Age 2, it sets details and graphic to minimum, and that surprised me..okay, maybe i can't squeeze out the max from a game like two years ago, but so much difference?, there are patches or something like that, or is too old my graphic card?

The bla bla part is actually pretty important to determine the problem.
I think you'd do well to right down the exact BSOD error and report that :)

Patch 1.1 is in the works, it'll supposed fix a lot of problems.
I wouldn't be surprised if nvidia releases a new driver soon either.

Have you tried the nvidia beta drivers 275.27. Some people have reported positive results by using them. Your card is more robust than mine and I'm not getting the issue. There could be an actual hardware problem or simply an need for newer drivers.

As Avatar mentioned the exact error code can be quite helpful so if you could take it down if it happens again that is something that could be researched.

Thank you very much i'll post the error when i can..i checked the drivers but i noticed that the ones mentioned here are for vista, windows 7 or Xp 64bit..my Xp is 32bit i don't really know if that's could be the problem..Xp won't last forever i know but i need to run "ancient" games (i still play Q3 Arena for example)..do this games run with windows7 or Xp 64bit? Questions from an ignorant..

I dug up a version that seems to work with xp for you. A new OS will be needed sooner rather than later. But nvidia isn't going to lock themselves out of a large market quite yet. Here's the link.

NVIDIA DRIVERS 275.27 BETA

The sys requirements say that xp 32 bit is fine. My vista machine is 32 bit as well.

If you are still getting BSOD try to note the numeric error code (usually 0x long string of numbers) BSOD is often caused by a hardware issue. Very rarely in my experience software only. This is why I was pushing the drivers. In any event the error code gives us something to look up.

Apparently there is a problem with hard drives on the FAT 32 file system as well. Worth checking out.

It may seem like a bit of a cop out on my part but CDProjekt Red has a support contact link on the website as well. They're a bit flooded at the moment though. Support - Overview - thewitcher.com

Let me know if there is still trouble.

Sweet. Enjoy the game. Combat's a little twitchy but the rest of it is a lot deeper than any RPG I've seen lately.
