Monk multiclass bug?

When you add a BAB from another class than monk how does it affect the attack progression of the monk?

I was thinking of making a rogue/monk for some variety...

So lets say I am a level 4 monk. I get 2 attacks at 4 and 1 BAB. Now what happens if I have 8 rogue levels too? Would it be 6BAB + 4BAB = 10/7/4/1 or 4 attacks? That doesn't seem right?? So would it be 6/1 + 4/1 = 3 attacks at 10/7/1?

Anyone know this? Essentially do you need to keep monks pure?

Monks loose their faster unarmed attack progression as soon as they get BAB from another class. That's no bug.

rogue8/monk4 gets 6+3=9 BAB. Attack progression is 9/4.
rogue1/monk14 gets 10 AB just like monk14, 10/5 with weapons and 10/7/4/1 unarmed.

I think it would have been better if they just capped the mixin class to medium BAB for unarmed attacks. So a monk/fighter could not benefit if they are a monk1/Fighter 12 trying to get 12/9/6/3 with unarmed. Either not allow multiclassing to high BAB or cap the unarmed BAB to medium on the mixin. Black isle should have consulted with me :p
