Hi, i bought one of those faster harddrives and installed the witcher 1 on it, but the loading time is still quite slow. Is it possible to move the save files on that harddrive too? How?

The load & save times are proportionate to the amount of savefiles you have. Delete those you don't need anymore, or at least put them in another folder, and it should be faster.

Oh, thanks. Deleting the saves from windows wont screw the saves up?

edit: But it should load faster if the saves was on the faster drive, right?

It will only screw up those you delete. :p Just keep one or two of the most recent ones. Or if you want to be on the save side: just place those you do not need in another folder.
You can only load saves from your standard Witcher save folder, though.

There isnt some file or such where you can enter where the game looks for the save files then?

I'm assuming this faster hdd is replacing the old one? If you just add a faster hdd to your system and install the Witcher on it, it will still store savedgames on your slower windows disk.

The new one didnt replace the old one. C is the old one, where witcher saves are stored.

Since TW1 is based on the NWN Engine, I guess there's some kind of .ini file that takes care of that, but really, you're better of just deleting older saves. Tinkering with ini-files is dangerous. I always noticed a boost in load/save speed after doing that.

Also, make sure that you're either playing with the Epic Edition, or that the game is fully patched. On release the Witcher had some serious loading issues, due mostly to the fact that they were using the NWN engine with much larger levels. The first set of major patches a few months after release helped a lot, and the EE did even more.

I bought the enhanced edition, is that the same as epic edition? I have installed 3 patches, think the latest was 1,5.

Yes, version 1.5 is the latest patch. There's no epic edition. Lemmus surely meant enhanced edition.

Sorry, yes, Enhanced Edition. I have the original release, so I just think of it as "that bloody giant patch they released".
