What is the diffrence between Ergo's mods? Should I install both or are they the same mod, only one is newer?

To be honest, I wouldn't install neither, since they change the game thoroughly. I shy away from mods that change the mechanics of the game to the whims of the modder.
Play the game at least once without them, I'd say. Compare both readme's to determine the difference? I thought they had that. I know that there are several threads about his mods on this board, and he visits here as well. Name is Ergopad, IIRC.

There are just so many things he approaches and it really sounds like a great mod. I'm not one to shy away from mods if they look good, I test them and if I like them I keep them

One thing to keep in mind: frequently savegames under one mod aren't compatible with games without the mod. Not sure how Ergo's mods interact, though.

Wow that is huge! Being unable to continue the game where you left it if you uninstall the mod is huge con. Better read through the nfo's.

I read through the read me files on both the mods and it didn't state anything about save games.

Fixpack is for Drakensang (1) - The Dark Eye and AddonPack is for Drakensang (2) - the River of Time. The game won't be dramatically different with or without the mod. Minor combat balances changes won't change the experience of the gameplay. But in any case, read the feature list and judge for yourself.
