Hi All ,

This is my first play-through and am planning to play as a Kensai-Thief dualling after level 13. My Kensai has earned enough XP points to level up to 13 after defeating Irenicus in Spellhold ( Chapter 5) and is about to enter Underdark. Now I don't want to suffer through Underdark as a puny Level 1 Thief, so is it possible that I hold on to levelling up until I have enough XP points to directly dual as a Level 13/14 Kensai-Thief and continue playing as a Level 13 Kensai till then.

Another question: after my kensai class reactivates, will I able to assign more than one * to my Kensai weapon proficiencies ?

Afaik this is possible but I am not 100% sure. I know that was definatly possible in IWD 2 so I do not see why it shouldn't be possible in BG 2.

As to your Kensai abilities, you should be able to assign more than one star to your proficiencies, since you should have access to all class features after your kensai is reactivated.
