About those acorns...

I just started playing BGII a few days ago, and I'm shamed to admit that I'm already in need of help! Here's my problem:

I've killed everything I can find in the first level of the dungeon, but I can't find the little guy with the acorns. I've looked over the area a couple of times, but no one is around. I really want to help out those dryads, but if I can't find that guy I won't be able to get the acorns, right? Could they have decayed on the corpse, perhaps? Also- do the dryads have the twin lamp? If so, do I have to have the acorns to get the lamp from them? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

After you get the acorns, ask the Dryads for the lamp, they have it. The acorns are in the room where you fought the dwarves, check all of their corpses for them. Sometimes, if you kill an enemy right next to a container or table etc. their loot will be on there instead of their corpse. Hope this helps.

I Doubt u had any spells that would do this but if you cast certain spells on one of those Dwarves the loot can be disentegrated but i doubt that u had any spells that would do that. Its in the room right after the bookcase room

probably a stupid thing to say, but did you find the dwarf called Yllich? He's the one that starts conversation with you, near where you found the door to the Plain of air.

The leader of the first set of dwarves you encountered was carrying the acorns.

Thanks for all your help. ;)

Hmm, I remember talking to and being attacked by the acorn holding dwarf, but after the battle I could find no trace of him anywhere... The only odd thing I did was cast some kind of entanglement spell with Jaheira, and that ended up almost getting a few of my party killed- I wasn't very smart on that one. So as soon as I got out of the entanglement, I ran, leaving the remaining bad guys alone. Then I rested, and when I returned no one was there. I ended up just starting from an earlier saved game, no biggie really. And this time I did get the acorns.
