At first I could only look straight ahead which made it hard to look through chests, then somehow I got to look down now that is all I can do. this is a problem when one wants to see where one is going. Any Suggestions. I have had this game for 4 days and I finally got through to the keep. I have been playing TES since the first one and never had this problem before.

The mouse controls where you are looking, so if you scroll 'up' with the mouse you should look up, though it takes a while.
I found that it helps to switch between 1st & 3rd person (the 'f' key if you're on the PC) depending on what you're doing.

I've found this opening bit of the game quite 'sticky' with the mouse control - veeeeeery slow going. But once you are out of the town things improve a lot! The presence of the dragon, even when it is unseen, seems to mess up the movement a fair bit.

I find fighting in general quite tough with this UI, as by the time I've got her facing the right way, the enemy's moved
Dragons do seem to slow things up too, I thought it was just me

I tried scrolling up and nothing happened then all of a sudden it was like I was on the floor looking up. Even in third person. I think I may wait for the patch to come out. I spent three days and only got 6 hours of play because I spent most of the time with tech problems. I even thought i was my mouse but it works fine otherwise.

Don't think it's a patch you need. Sounds like you need a new comp, like me!

Also, and I apologise if this is obvious, but make sure that you have checked your mouse tracking speed in Gameplay options. The default mouse look speed is very slow, and I found that on low speed it caused the game to appear a bit chunky, and for vertical sight to be difficult. Once I reset the mouse look speed the character control improved dramatically.
I'm not saying this will necessarily help, an older computer will have problems with this game, but it's worth trying the easy solutions before you try the difficult (or expensive) ones.

Have they updated this? When I played last night, my mouse speed has increased to the point where I'm finding it difficult to use the controls - it's like Blair Witch shaky cam
The tracker speed in settings is still at a low setting, I wish they would warn you first!

My computer isnpt that old but I don't know what else to try. I got to the keep and finally got to a door and it said it was blocked on the other side. Now I can't get out of the keep.
