Alchemy skill

I have a character with alchemy skill but I don't know how to use it because I want to make the poison for the driders. Can someone help me with this?
Select the character with alchemy skill and have him examine the location and do what (s)he's supposed to do to get this potion.
You don't have to make the potion to win the game, it only makes a battle easier.
