Go and get it here:
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines : Patches, Updates, Addons, Downloads (The Patches Scrolls)
While searching for stuff to include in a possible library level, I found
over fifty unused props and restored them! Because this changed many maps,
the current patch is released as a beta first, but I hope that no hotfix
will be needed and it will be as stable as the last patch versions

.
v7.9 22.11.2011
----
+Restored Giovanni spirit, video victim and fifty five scenery props.
+Changed condition for forklift sequence and restored Protean icons.
+Added option to send Gimble to Vandal and a museum panel inspection.
+Restored final two music pieces, thanks to Malkav and Rik Schaffer.
Corrected Romero not mailing and Vandal not giving additional lines.
Fixed chandelier and camera rod textures and drinking glasses clip.
Removed newspaper from downtown in basic and fixed minor map issues.
Added Packfile Explorer 3.9 to Extras folder, thanks to Dave Gaunt.
Fixed Hitman quest problem and restored lines of Lu Fang and Carson.
Repaired dancer behaviour at Confession and added it for Glaze too.
Restored Blood Hunt music, ballroom shaft of light and Sin Bin sign.

The new level is not yet in this release, I just restored a lot of other stuff while looking for props that belong into the library...

Ok, sorry, I'll wait for that. I was going to say I downloaded it, as an .rar, and unpacked it, and couldn't use it. I think I had another file that wasn't right, and thought it was the update, and tried to install it, didn't work. Which was my fault. Oh well, live and learn.

Yeah, they accidentally uploaded the rar instead of the installer at The Patches Scrolls, but this has been fixed in the meantime.

Wespe, thanks a lot...
...for all the time you've spent on these patches. They've really helped with the replayability, and I'm looking forward to new levels.

A question...
What can you guys say about these new levels? They're part of new quests?

There will only be one new level in the Unofficial Patch, if we can make it at all

. This will take place in the library building across from the Venture Tower, because it was mentioned in interviews that that map was cut from the final game, although there are still a lot of finished assets found in the game files. Of course there will be a quest connected to the map, but it will be a minor side quest only...

A good opportunity to gain more XP, a new map, and enemies. Cool.

So, how much have the maps been changed in this release, are the changes very noticeable? Also, since it "planned" that a new map will be included in one of the future patches, if all goes well with it, are there plans to add further levels? I'm sure this would depend on if there were a lot of unused assets.

Not really, unless you know each Bloodlines level by heart

. Most changes are subtle, you may notice them in levels where several new props have been added though, like in the theatre. But on a whole most is only static scenery...

The only unused assets that can be connected to a concrete level are those that belong to the cut library. This will be the only map added in the patch, but if it works, maybe people will start doing real expansions

Did you install the patch and loaded a older save file? i think thats the problem...you are playing on a save file from a older version after you installed the new patch...at least, when things got weird with me, and i also started seeing everyone as a vampire, the cause for that was because i installed a new patch and loaded a save file that i had from a previous version...so if its the same problem, just start a new game i suppose...hope that helps

Say, Wesp, are you still working on patch 8.0 with the new level?
I feel like reinstalling the game for another play, but I'd really rather wait for the new patch if you're planning to release it any time soon.
