Help! I can't install

Post by Moogleman »

Hello!
I'm trying to express install swtor and it fails, with the last message in the installation window reading;
Extract: Assets/swtor_main_anim_humanoid_bmaf_1.tor
After consulting the installation help guide on swtor.com I ran the program as admin and allowed it through my fire wall. Still no success. I realise there is always the chance my system simply can't run the game, but surely it should still install?
HP Pavillion Dv6-6176sa
Processor: Intel Core i3-2310M CPU @2.10Ghz 2.10Ghz
RAM: 4GB
Graphics Card: Dedicated AMD Radeon HD 6490M-1GB
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Any help would be appreciated :)

Is this from a DVD or download? If from a DVD, I'd say: download the client?

It's a DVD, so where would I get the client? I'm a bit of a pc noob, a converted console gamer :p
EDIT: Also, my laptop should be able to handle it, right?

Well, it's either a DVD, OR it's a download. It can't be both. One is a physical object, the other isn't. The client can be found on the Bioware website. Just googling it probably provides it too.

I think your laptop should be able to handle the game, yes.

That was my bad grammar, I did edit the post to make it clear I was installing from a DVD but it must have not updated yet.

I originally hadn't redeemed my product key and couldn't find the client on swtor. I'm now downloading from the client, so hopefully I'll get some game time in today. If I encounter any more problems I'll be sure to check back
Thanks for the help :D
