Arch mage

Since I am the new arch mage how come I only get a rested bonus when I sleep. Also is the chest really safe storage? If I place something in the display case will it disappear and do the soul gems respawn?

im not sure what else would happen. im the arch mage and nothing ever happens when I sleep. am I missing something?
any storage there is safe. and the safe can be relocked. I never have, and have not had anything removed.

I have not experienced the "whole month" thing. I can guarantee you if I do I am moving everything to the house I have in Solitude lol
