This is going to be basically impossible for me to narrow down, but here's a "few":
- Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura
- Baldur's Gate series
- Deus Ex series
- Diablo series
- Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga
- Doom series (okay, mostly just the original two)
- Dungeons of Dredmor
- Fallout series
- Grand Theft Auto series
- Half-Life series
- Icewind Dale series
- Mount & Blade series
- STALKER series
- Serious Sam series
- Civilization series
- System Shock series
- The Elder Scrolls series
- The Witcher series (first for being a great RPG, second for being a great game)
- Unreal Tournament series
- Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines
As you can see by the number of "series" entries there, I find it pretty difficult to split hairs, so I won't even try. There are dozens of other games that I enjoy, of course, but these ones generally represent what I'm playing most or what's closest to my heart.

In roughly the following order:
Planescape Torment (in my view, best game ever made, period)
Baldur's Gate series
Witcher series
Dragon Age Origins
Morrowind
I also think that once it has been out for a while and the modders have worked their usual magic, Skyrim has some potential too.

It's too many to list all of them. I'll just list those that I have the fondest memories of.

2. Baldur's Gate 2 (2000)

20. The dig (1995)
Looking at the release dates I can only say they don't make them as they used to. I'm allergic to the modern "consolized" games.

Personally I found Diablo 2 far superior to the first part. Especially with the different classes, skill trees, runes and gems. Although the first part had the more intense dungeon crawler feeling. Going deeper and deeper and deeper....
And regarding Max Payne. They are making a third part and so far it looks like the second part with better graphics. Will be one of the games I keep my out for.
My top 11:
1. Baldur's Gate 2 + ToB
2. Warcraft 3
3. Warcraft 2
4. Dungeon Keeper 2
5. Starcraft
6. Fallout (1-3 + NV but without the tactic games)
7. Final Fantasy 6+7 (was 6 on computer? or did I just play it with an emulator?)
8. Diablo 2
9. Planescape: Torment
10. Vampire: the Masquarade (Bloodlines and Redemption)
11. The longest Journey + Dreamfall (Damn where is the conclusion... such an evil cliffhanger ending and no third part.... curse you funcom!)

I was thinking we've already done this, then realised not, the previous 'Favourite thread' was all computer games, and as a lot of my faves were on the Amiga pr even Amstrad 6128 this is a bit different; so here goes (Vanilla, not modded), in no particular order
Might & Magic 6 & 7
Baldur's Gate Trilogy
X-Beyond the Frontier and X-Tended
Knights of the Old Republic
Betrayal in Antara
Wizardry 8
Stonekeep
Thunderscape
Dungeon Lords
Morrowing/Bloodmoon/Tribunal
Menzoberranzen
Hearts of Iron
Fallout 3

Yeah. Although I found Diablo 2 to be a good game with more classes and skill choices I missed that feeling of going deeper and deeper. But the biggest let down for me was the higher tempo. Especially the ability to run.

There is only one way to play Super Mario Bros. And that involves a rectengular grey thing with two red buttons on top of it.

Favourite on PC, hmmmm....
Being an old school gamer; I loved Civ 2, Black Isle classics like BG2 and Planescape, LucasArts point and click games but Football Manager and Morrowind take the cake. The first was/is just so addictive and I could actually use the SDK on the other one so it still has endless replayability for me.
Its all consoles these days.

You really caught me off guard.
My first favorite game ever was SEGA's Sonic.
But about a year ago I tried to play it and it was such a disappointment. Nearly ruined my childish memories.
So now it's just Heroes of Might and Magic. The third edition.

Sonic? On PC? Hmmm. Not my idea of relaxing mouse clicking, lol.
I can't pick a specific favourite PC game, way too many to mention.
What I will mention is:
Robin Hood - The Legend Of Sherwood
Because I'm sure there's many people here who have never heard of this amazing little gem of a game, let alone played it. (Rating: 8.6/10 - Gamespot)
This game has everything you could wish for from a simple isometric sword-and-quest based action adventure. It's basically a CRPG with no levelling or hyper-magic etc.
Here's a youtube link to the end-of-game video:
Robin Hood Legenda Sherwood - Secret Ending (polish version) - YouTube
Best viewed on full screen and don't worry, there is no spoilerage from watching this clip
