RPG for playing at work?

First of all, please let me say that as long my work is done I'm allowed to play at work. I'm an IT and I mostly cover night / weekend shifts, so I have lots of free time to spare while at work.

Now, in regards to the topic, keep in mind that:

- I have a decent but not powerful computer at the office (built-in video card)
- I won't be able to play straight for many hours; I will be interrupted by phone calls and / or emails
- I've already played all BI games, Arcanum, TES, NWN, ToEE, etc.
- The game should be available for online purchase (I'm not from the states)
- Ideally it should last me less than a week

That said, what rpg do you suggest for playing at work?

Many thanks for reading and sorry for my English.

I'd say Avernum 6 is a "no-brainer"..

1. Classic RPG
2. Simplistic Graphics
3. Turn-based.
4. Purchased on-line.

Avernum 6 Homepage

I think this one scored Gamebanshee's indi-game of the year award 2 years ago.

Here is Gamebanshee's original review:

The "less than a weak" criteria however make make this game unsuitable..

For a non-rpg game Disciples Sacred Lands and Disciples II.. again, turn-based with an RPG *theme* (though not a classic RPG at all) and easy graphics ..from Good Old Games GOG (download).

Have you considered the Rogue-like genre games, such as NetHack, Angband, Dungeon Crawl, and so on?

The games will run on just about anything as they use ASCII graphics, or you can expand them with tile & sprite sets. Beat5ing the games will take you years, but individual runs are likely to be over in a few days at best. Plus the games are fully turn based, so the only thing you need to do to pause is not to do anything.

I haven't yet played it personally, but a couple of people I know and generally trust have it given it rave reviews...

And here is some more information.

I think it meets most of your requirements.

I personally enjoyed Bastion, and the narations that you get throughout the story, even depending on certain actions such as destroying crates and what not for treasure. However, it is as much of an RPG as Zelda is - but don't get me wrong, it's still a very fun hack and slash game with an interesting story and environment.
