Anybody who played the game already (my copy has only just arrived) got an idea which skills are useful? Like Smithing, Alchemy, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Detect Hidden and Persuasion are must have's.

Stealth is essential for some quest lines.

Thanks. Any of the crafting skills worth it? I generally prefer not to bother with them, as you can often find better loot and you're constantly toting tons of items about. But if they allow access to the best stuff... Is Sagecraft (i.e. Enchanting?) worth it?

I haven't played enough to have an opinion about Sagecraft.

Alchemy and Blacksmithing - i didn't bother, and so far i don't have any trouble with it.

Thanks. Given the respec options, it isn't much of a deal if I don't get it "right" straight away.

Detect hidden until you get to finding hidden doors is pretty much a must. Sagecrafting is also must in my opinion since you get a lot more gems that way, and when you can craft epic gems you get some pretty sick once(like increase fire, frost and lightning damage done by 20%).

Blacksmithing is not worth having since it takes points away from the ''adventuring'' skills like Detach Hidden, Persuasion and Sage. But it is very good since it gives the best gear in the game that I have noticed(I have played for 40hours so far, and think i am about half way through the game, so it might change at the later levels), I very rarely find purple gear that is better then my green/blue crafted gear, and when you can craft the epic gems from sagecrafting in to the armor you make it gets pretty insane(you can only craft the epic gems in to chest/robes though, so if you get socketable gear it might be more powerful).
What I do is about every 5levels is respecc fully blacksmithing and make myself some gear and then respecc back to my normal stuff(Detect hidden, persuasion and sagecrafting), it costs a lot of gold to do(my respecc costs are 40k gold now) I haven't really had any problems getting gold(you get allot more by just having detect hidden).
But honestly I don't know if it is worth it since it makes the game way to easy, I'm kill all normal enemies in 1spell and ''elite'' enemies in 2spells most of the time(or all normal and all elite enemies around me in 1spell if I can get a fully talented and fully charged storm bolt off), and I'm playing on hard, it is kinda of annoying.
