EA killed my inner child!

Had to do a clean install after my HD failed. Decided that I would give the Mass Effect games another playthrough before I decide if I can stomach Origin enough to get Mass Effect 3.
So I installed Mass Effect (from Disc) and the patches then went to install the DLC. I never bothered to note down the serial number for BDtS because like most of my Bioware CD keys it was saved on my Bioware account. It appears when they went social... all those CD keys are no longer available. Still waiting to find out if I they are willing to tell me my key or give me a new one.
My second problem is now with Pinnacle Station... I have the serial number but not the exe file. It looks like I can't download the exe file without EA download manager which has evolved into Origin!
I am reluctant to get origin because EA use monstrous regional settings... they seem to exist in a world where no-one moves around and your language preferences in the EA accounts page are largely ignored.
They sure don't like to make things easy!
