Since the latest Deadlystream patch for KOTOR 2 is almost ready for release, I thought of doing one more canon playthrough of the game. So it has been officially established that The Exile was female, Light Side and that her name was Meetra Surik. What did she look like? The Old Republic showed me:

So.. can't really tell her skin color (TOR seems like a blockbuster game, so she's probably white), but she has a decidedly a round face, horrible pouty lips, a rather small chin, weirdly tied-up hair.. hm.

I've gone through the available female exile heads in KOTOR 2: TSL, but I'm having a lot of trouble finding one that looks like her. I think we can forget about finding one with a similar haircut, there is nothing like it in the game. Which of the selectable faces in KOTOR 2 would you select?

I hope one of these days a custom head for her will find its way to us.

I'd say the 2nd portrait, or the 13th. She might as well have been black, so I'd rather focus on the face.

Care to tell me anything more about that deadlystream patch?

There have been posts about these restoration patches before, they are of a new mod community that sprung up after it became clear the first restoration project was pretty much vapourware. These guys have really delivered. The current patch 1.8 has been about a year in the making.

I'm going to make sure there will be a news post about this when it is ready. 1.8 is going to be the final patch, as all the developers of it are throwing in the towel after this one.

All this TOR has made me hungry for another KotOR playthrough. I'll wait for patch 1.8, though.

There have been unofficial KOTOR 1 restoration patches too, if you're interested. There might be some info on Deadlystream about that, if they don't already host those files. I never really bothered with those particular patches since the amount of cut material was never really problematic for KOTOR 1.

According to Drew Karpyshyn's latest Star Wars novel "Revan", Meetra Surik had "short brown hair, pale white skin, and piercing blue eyes". As far as I can tell, NONE of the character portraits in KotOR II match this accurately. Some have short brown hair and grey eyes, but the only one with blue eyes is blonde (4th row down, 3rd across on your linked picture).

It's been suggested in other threads that it's possible she may have dyed her hair afterwards, but that's purely speculation. As it stands, there is no character portrait/face in the game that accurately matches the canon depiction of Meetra Surik.
