Looking for ways to make the game more difficult and for some suggestions

I'm planning to start a new play through with scs, scsii, tactics and ascension installed, with some other content adding mods thrown into the mix. I've played all the formerly mentioned mods before, but this time I've been thinking about leaving the xp cap on, and I was wondering if there's a mod that reduces the amount of experience you get from quests and kills to make it more difficult, and so that I don't end up being at the level cap for the entire second half of the game?

Also, is there a mod that reduces the amount of gold available in the game, as well as reduces the value of items sold by the player and increase the value of vendor items in stores? What I'm looking for is a simple mod that would reduce all gold drops etc. to 1/4th of the original and double the store prices, for instace.

Lastly, since the difficulty will probably reach completely new levels, I'd like to know what would be a good choise of class for the protagonist? I plan to play an evil character, my party in soa will consist of viconia, edwin, korgan (changed to barbarian using flails) jan jansen (changed to cleric/illusionist) and I might add sarevok in tob. What would be a good addition to this party?

I'd prefer to get the thief stronghold in soa, and since jan is no longer a thief I'm planning to make the protagonist one. The thing is that I'm still a bit torn on what character to make. On one hand I've never had a kensai/thief, but I'm not sure how effective this character will by by the end of soa and tob. I know that F/M/T is completely op without the xp cap, but I'm not entirely sure how good it is with the cap. Please include what weapon proficiency you would suggest for my protagonist.

Lastly, I'm willing to consider non-thieves as well (and change jan back to his normal form), the only class I definitely don't want the protagonist to be is a single class mage or a sorc, since I have used them too much in the past. Any thoughts?

Play on insanity, make it an Ironman (no-reloads, ever), use absolutely no cheese, no level 9 mage nor level 7 cleric spells in SoA. No HLA's until Ascension. Toss in Improved Ust Natha as a bonus and finish it with no scrolls or zone switching.

I believe that's as far as it goes. Ah yes : XP Cap On.

I can not imagine playing the game otherwise :D

While those are some good suggestions, I think that would be making the game too difficult and too much of a hazzle for me, especially since I still play the game mainly for the story and I don't feel like starting it from the beginning in case I die. Having said that, I am going to play it on impossible and I'll also try not to use any cheese.

I'd still be interested to find mods similar to the ones I mentioned in my first post, and I'd also appreciate some opinions regarding the class choice for the protagonist. Would a kensai/thief be effective through all three games, or will it start to get weak later in the game and in that case, what class/class-combo do you think would be a better choice?

Nah. stoneskin, fireball, sleep, repeat.

magic completely dominates this game, and sleep(and later wish) keeps it full for each encounter.

Keep the cheese, just limiting resting to .. say once in 1 hour of realtime gaming would do wonders to difficulty. (and no refilling spells/abilities otherwise of course)
