Some time ago, my main character(a fighter) can no longer interact in dialogue. Not only does he no longer have the "Male001" (I believe that is the one I picked) but I cannot initate conversations with him. Instead I get randomly generated texts, some I recall seeing before such as something Nalia said upon arriving at the keep and others about characters I do not yet know of. On top of the speech problem, my character no longer "aggros" creatures anymore. For example, I went back to Bohdi's place for chapter 6 and the vampirisms and creatures did not attack me, usually until I attack them. He also seems unaffected by most high level magics that liches cast, although not all. Beholders and Gauths no longer cast spells against him but proceed to attempt to melee attack him without a single sucessful blow. I was going through the game just fine but there are a few dialogues I have encountered where they wish to speak directly to the party leader... but he can't. If anybody has ANY clue how to fix this I'd be willing to try just about everything but restarting the game.

Unfortunately it looks to me like a complete re-install is the only solution. What you describe indicates that the dialog.tlk file has become corrupted. this is usually caused by mods that have been installed, and is a very common problem.

The only way to 'fix' this as I understand things is to uninstall and reinstall the game.

Hopefully someone else will come up with a better solution, but I'm not hopeful.

PS You could try starting a new game to see if the problem re-occur, if they don't then the problem is probably a corrupt game save. Have you got a save from before this started happening?
