I thought it would be fun to discuss characters. Then I wrote this topic.

My character is a lvl22 Fighter(berserker, lawful good) and is wearing Adjatha the drinker+2,
a shield (don't remember what it does) and a armor with -? (Got it from Yuaga-Shura). He also have a The Helm of Glory and ??? of Weapon Expertice.... Pretty good I think, he has managed to live this far.... I've just killed Yuaga-Shura and now.. I'm walking around in Watchers Keep lvl4. The characters in my party is: Anomen(not a paladin...), Minsc, Mazzy, Aerie and Imoen.. My partys reputation is pretty good to, Heoroic (-:

Please tell something about your charactes... Could be fun to get to know something about other characters.....

I play a neutral good fighter/mage/thief with the exp raised to 32,000,000. The three classes are around 13 or 14 and I havn't left for the pirate island in SOA yet. This character will be going all the way through the game solo. Right now he uses the Robe of Vecna(ugliness) and is very versitile.

I am a lvl 24 Chaotic Good Barbarian. I chose to be an elf because the elf avatar is pretty handsome....hee...
My party consists of myself, Minsc, Sarevok (I love his deathbringer assault and stats), Jaheira, Aerie and Imoen. U know something, Aerie rocks at higher levels....

I play with a human Paladin/Cavalier (not sure on the level, but must be very high by now). I decided the bonus you get for killing the dragons and the inmunity from fear is more than enough for me, and I never use an archer type main character.

He is traveling with Minsc (his pal from all the way back in BGI, where actally, Dynaehir died and was never resurrected), his sister Imoen (also in all his travels since BGI), the archmage Nalia, Sir Anomen the cleric, and his love Aerie (she is pregnant by now).

Some people will say I am crazy for using 3 mages in my party, but you have to see the combined effect of 3 time stops/ alacrities along with dozens of magic missiles and several dispel magical protection and lower magic resistance spells. Oh, did I mention that 2 clerics keep the party at full health in most battles? Minsc and my char can take everything else on melee.

My single-player party consists of a Fighter/Thief multi-class, Minsc, Sarevok, Imoen, Jaheira and Sir Anomen (a "classic" party ;) )

My multi-player party is composed of two Swashbuckler[10]/Fighters, a Half-Elven Fighter/Mage, a Half-Orc Berserker, and a Human Druid to be dualled to Fighter at level 15. The party is designed after my favorite PnP D&D group...

My party consists of me (monk, probably the closest thing to a god-spawn you`ll find, very powerfull with very little equipment...), minsk, the "not-so-evil" Viconia, Sarevok "same", Haer'Dalis (very powerfull at high levels) and Imoen (shadowkeeped to a mage avatar, she`s an archmage for god`s sake!)

My present party is actually still in SoA, it consists: Me, Garm, a dwarven berserker, neutral good, Minsc, Valygar, Mazzy, Jan, Sir Anomen. My last party was: Robin Hood: a human chaotic good archer, Minsc, Keldorn, Sir Anomen, Yoshimo in the beginning, Jan in the end, and last but not least, Aerie. My next group: Me, a chaotic good swashbuckler elf, Haer'Dalis, Jaheira, Nalia, Cernd and Keldorn or some other melee char.

I've got multiple parties, so what the heck, I'll tell 'em all.

My first game was with a Neutral Good Human Illusionist named Geno. Party members were Minsc (what good char doesn't like him?), Jaheira (romance, of course), Anomen, Imoen, and Aerie (who came rather close to being dropped.) This party had its struggles ... definitely. But it was my first, whaddya expect?

Then there's my evil game. Lawful Evil (Neutral Evil after hell) Half-Elf Cleric named Elamshin (who was made to look like a Drow :D ) Elamshin, in Drow, means destiny, which I thought was hecka cool. Party consisted of Korgan, Sarevok/Jaheira (Jaheira was ditched when ToB rolled around), Viconia (the lovable Drowess!), Edwin, and Jan/Imoen. This party can literally bash the crap out of anything, and then add Edwin's incredible mage power and nothing stands in their way. Mua-ha!

My latest is a Chaotic Neutral Gnome Kensai/Mage named Cousin Roffer! (Wahoo! I stole the name from Jan, lol) Of course, I cheated to make him a dual class. I love Shadowkeeper. The party right now has Minsc, Mazzy, Cernd, Jan, and Aerie.

You're using a +2 weapon in WK? ROFLMAO!!!!! At least pick up Angurdaval+3 or something!

Anyhoo, in my current game(just made it to ToB) I'm using my evil Swashbuckler who uses bladesinger, celestial fury, and blackrazor (going to go to WK first thing and pick up some weapons).

I have Korgan (can't wait to get a hold of Axe of Unyeilding and Runehammer), Vic, and Edwin in my party.

I could list all my equipment, but that'd be pretty pointless...

Have a good one!

P.S. Nearly pissed my pants when I read that adjatha the drinker crack! :p

My party is one hell of a powerhouse. This is my third time through BG2, and I just beat Bdhi for the second time. My party consists of Myself, Virdel Mae'Shar, a Chaotic Good Elf, Level 22, Drizzts Weapons. It also has Keldorn, Level 18 wielding the Silver Sword, Carsomyr, and Fire Tooth. Edwin, Level 18 as well, Robe of Vecna, staff of Magi, etc. Jaheira, my romance, weilding Belm, and that cool bone club thingy at level(s) 13. Next is Imoen, level 16, using Gesen's bow, and wearing shadow scales. My last character is the Famous Drizzt Do'Urden (Compliments of Manveru) who is currently level 18.

I know, I know... I cheated big time for the first run through, though I only did it to see the game without the stress of worrying about death. And I just finished defeating Melissan. Here's my party...

Me (yeah, I'm that self-absorbed that I gave my character my name), I "altered" my characters to move him to a Lvl 39/40 Kensai-Thief with personalized golden armor and shield, as well as a flaming blue-gray katana. Despite the overwhelming cheating, the effect is wicked! :)

Others in my mostly good-aligned party inlcude...

Keldorn - Lawful Good Lvl 40 Inquisitor with personalized silver and red plate armor and shield and katana.

Minsc - Chaotic Good Lvl 39/40 Ranger-Cleric (to quote Britney - "oops, I did it again..." I altered the Tomes of Understanding and Leadership and moved everyones stats to 25's. I should be drug out into the streets and shot, I know.)

Jaheira - True Neutral Lvl 34/40 Druid-Fighter with green scale mail and a personalized scimitar.

Imoen - Chaotic Good Lvl 7/40 Thief-Mage with "purple dragon scale armor" which rocks even despite the cheat and looks seriously cool in the game.

Aerie - Lawful Good (romanced) Lvl 40/34 Cleric-Mage with personalized Cloak of the Good Archmage and Staff of the Magi (with the invisibilty removed 'cuz it's annoying)

Now, that I've laid waste to the Sword Coast without really having a threat posed to me, I plan on going back through the game with a normal character and turning to the "dark side." Just to see how Irenicus reacts when I offer my sword to his cause. :o

Oh, and if anyone is interested, post a reply and I can send you the usable Tomes for Wisdom and Charisma or any of the other items I made for my party.

Jerubal
Half-Elf
Fighter(24)/Thief(28)
Neutral Evil

STR : 18
DEX : 19
CON : 16
INT : 17
WIS : 12
CHR : 16

Wears black dragon scale and carries 2 long swords.

Happily (although completely accidental) it seems my character does quite well in BGII. I initially chose him with a D&D group last summer, where he attained a mighty 3rd/4th level :p

Also worth noting that several stats have changed during the course of SoA and ToB. Used to have STR : 15 and WIS : 13.

I recently finished the game with a half-elven female Cleric/Ranger, Sarevok, and Imoen, whom I edited to be a 9th Level Thief dualled to a Conjurer like she was when I finished BG1:TotSC. I hope I'm not giving anything away here, but the idea behind my party was that My Three Bhaalspawn were opposing The Five. Thanks to the Ascension mod, it was even more interesting by the time I reached the end of the game. Some of you might know what I'm talking about, but I'd rather not spoil it for those who don't. All three of my party members renounced their taint and were glad to be rid of it. In the end, it was like one big happy family.

My Cleric/Ranger and Imoen had gone all the way through BG1 and BG2 as a pair (except when Imoen was kidnapped by the Cowled Wizards). Occasionally, I allowed other NPCs to join the party for individual quests. For example, Valygar participated in the Planar Sphere quest, and Nalia participated in the D'Arnise Keep quest and the hunt for Firkraag, who we figured was responsible for the attack on the Keep. Keldorn assisted the party with the Unseeing Eye quest. Other than those quests, my Cleric/Ranger and Imoen pretty much worked alone. My Cleric/Ranger handled Chapter Three all by herself (and she did it very well, I might add). She sided with Bodhi in the guild war and eventually destroyed both groups. She went to Spellhold by herself to rescue Imoen.

When they met Sarevok in Throne of Bhaal, I had not forgotten about the issue that Tamoko had raised in BG1: Sarevok might not necessarily be evil if it weren't for his taint. What if he had been raised by Gorion like my own character? When he was given a new life, the taint was gone, and my Cleric/Ranger took him under her wing. (She wasn't afraid of him, and he wasn't about to cross her.) Imoen didn't hold a grudge against him, because it just isn't in her nature. I was interested in exploring the question of whether Sarevok could be redeemed. All I'll say is, see for yourself.

When Imoen and my Cleric/Ranger started Throne of Bhaal, they each had about 7 million experience points. Sarevok started with 2.5 million, or whatever it was. By the time the game was over, Imoen and my Cleric/Ranger had about 18.5 million experience points, and Sarevok had about 14 million. (I removed the experience cap.) I don't know if "my party could beat your party," and I don't really care, but IMHO, they were awesome.

I wouldn't even consider trying to determine whose party would win, as both sound very powerful (and if you're ever challenged, then there's always the ctrl-Y method. :) )

I like your idea of a story within a story, and I'll definitely have to try the Ascension mod you mentioned. It sounds fun.

Now I'm trying to run through the game without cheating, and I see how tough the game could really be!

Hey, VonDondu, I've done almost the same thing, only with a Kensai/Mage as PC.
Duo party through SoA with Imoen, then added Sarevok and...
helped him to find a new self!

I've a couple of question. How did you reach that much XPs?!?!?!
I made almost all the quests, maybe skipped some kills now and then,
but I reached something like 10.000.000 with the PC..
Where did you gain all that amount of points?!?!

Also I'd be interested in hear how you won the final (Ascension) battle, as it took
me a WEEK to beat it with only three party members!!
(and with minimal preparations, but this is just me...)

Sorry, Littiz, I got my numbers mixed up. It has been a couple of months since I played Throne of Bhaal, and I was thinking of two different games. When I played all the way through Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal with only two characters, they each had about 18.5 million experience points. I don't have a saved game handy to check the actual figures. When I took Sarevok with me, the numbers dropped quite a bit. My Cleric/Ranger and Imoen had about 7 million points apiece when they started Throne of Bhaal, end they finished the game without about 13 million points apiece. Sarevok must have had about 8.5 million. I did cheat in a couple of respects. First of all, I gave Imoen and my Cleric/Ranger an extra 500,000 experience points apiece when they started Shadows of Amn to bring them up the to level they were when they finished BG1. I also exploited my knowledge of the game to maximize experience gains.

Excluding Watcher's Keep, the total amount of experience your party can earn in Shadows of Amn is about 18 million. That's assuming that you undertake every quest, kill every monster, have your thief pick every lock and disarm every trap, and have your Mage memorize every spell. The actual number of points will vary depending on how many members you have in your party, since some quests award "quest experience points"--that is, a set amount of experience for each party member, rather than one lump sum to be divided among your entire group. Also, the number of monsters will vary depending on what level your characters are when you enter an area. Small parties which advance in level rapidly encounter more monsters than large parties which advance more slowly. There are also some areas where monsters respawn, and I made stops there occasionally on my way to other areas.

Including Watcher's Keep, Throne of Bhaal adds about another 18 million experience points to the game. The same conditions stated above apply. I did try to maximize my characters' experience. For example, I completely obliterated the enemy armies. I waited until they stopped respawning before I finished the area. My characters were over 20th Level (Imoen was about 30th Level) when they entered Watcher's Keep, and I'm sure that I saw more monsters than I did when I played through it with a larger party in Shadows of Amn.

I don't know why your party didn't earn as much experience as mine did. If you had the game set to "Normal" or "Easy" instead of "Core Rules" or higher (I'm not saying you did), that might have made a difference; perhaps the game awards less experience with those settings.

As for the final encounter, well, the Ascension mod makes some changes that I don't want to discuss here because they're spoilers. But I will say that I probably handled the encounter(s) the same way you did: trial and error, and lots of reloading. :) I wouldn't say that I used every trick in the book (I'm not that good), but I did try everything that I could think of. And also...well, when I played the game with only two characters, I didn't actually finish the game, because the final encounter was too difficult for me. That's one reason why I brought along Sarevok the next time, and that's when I installed the Ascension mod.

This explains enough, I DID skip some killings and quest!
But 18 millions seemed really too much :D

I know the feeling with Ascension's final battle, now I want to try
it ASAP with a "normal" party of five people! :)
