I really didn't know whether to put this on this forum, DA:O or leave it in SYM. Either way I wanted to share it and here it is, I think its pretty damn cool!

Saw the redux thread a while ago on Bioware Social, nice to see they are making some promising progress.

I have doubts whether this will ever come out, but either way the amount of dedication shown just by getting this far is incredible. Still, there's a reason they haven't released even the first 25% after 4 years... they're literally remaking a full game, and we all know how that went for the Black Mesa guys.

I find this to be a very impressive accomplishment, as much as I am utterly convinced that if the full game was made like so, it would quite bad.
The engine is awful for it. It just shows. So many things in there kills the artistic spirit of the game. The professionalism in captivating that artistic feel is not there.
So while the scene is very interesting to see in 3D, its ultimately sub-par in the grand scheme of things. This is a project beyond what the team can do, and I'm not saying the people are bad, but this is a mod, made of free time, with unguided people.
I would not continue working on this as much as I applaud this cutscene. At least for god's sakes, find a better engine next time, that suits the spirit of the game even slightly.
I don't mean to offend anyone with this post, I just cannot withhold what I consider to be the truth.

I think it looked really awesome, except for the bit with Irenicus; his lipsynching is quite off, he uses dialogue that is not actually in the game, and...I don't think they've made him feel as intimidating as he should.
I'd definately play this mod, if they can manage to finish it...as others have already pointed out 'Tis a grand project, though I cross my fingers.
