can you create a new character to play through ToB with? I finished SoA last night and am getting ToB tomorrow and I'm gonna play through with my paladin and my existing party first but second time through i was wondering if i could create a new character?

Yes, but you will then start with lousy equipment and only around 2,5 million exp. (not at the old bg2 cap 2.9)

OK, Another quick question here, When importing a character when does it import it from? Does it use the character that you had after puting the tears of bhaal in the door or before that?

No, it'll get the character from the final save - which is the first time you click on the door. Unless you exported your character while fighting Irenicus, you will not get the Tears abilites. So the only way to get the abilities is to install ToB, and then fight Irenicus again - after the fight the game will automatically start ToB.

I some how acidently made a quick save during the fight. Can I import this? and can i import my party off this save?

You will only be able to import the main character, not the NPCs. If you want the NPCs as well, load up the save game and finish the fight again.

when i got ToB i started SoA again, and played through it all again. by the time i beat irenicus i was about lvl 25, much higher than the SoA cap!

Watch out for importing into ToB, I did and I ended up not being able to save, everytime i did, it saved it into a small file somewhere in my computer that wouldn';t show on the load screen or summat, the only way it would work was to fight the final battle again.
