Ok, this is driving me nuts.
My protagonist, human swashbuckler/mage can't see a darn thing.
daytime, nighttime, inside or out. he has to run right up next to anything to cast on it, see a trap, use a bow, anything that invovles range. This has gotta be a mistake, what use is a mage that doesnt have any range?

I tried using teh infravision spell indoors, underground, and at night, no help, he still has to run right up to everything.

Have you possibly been blinded, certain spells (notably holy smite) have a problem whereby the blindness caused by them was permanent.
